Welcome to Triello Counselling Services
My name is Cassandra Tenneriello and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ottawa, ON. As a therapist, I walk alongside my clients on their therapeutic journey. My initial goal is to create a safe and compassionate environment for clients to begin their healing process. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of therapy. From experience, all clients are unique and my priority is to mould my therapeutic approach to suit each individual's needs and goals by using an integrative model. I am passionate about helping individuals move forward in their personal lives by discovering the strengths they already possess and building on them to achieve self-sufficiency.
I have five years’ experience working with individuals of all ages who are faced with trauma, addiction, sexual assault, and intergenerational trauma. Also, supporting anxiety, depression, grief/loss, self-harm, self-esteem, struggles with identity and other obstacles that present themselves at any stage of life.
I had the opportunity to provide counselling services throughout the remote, isolated indigenous communities of the James and Hudson Bay region. My time in Northern Ontario allowed me to gain insight on the importance of the interconnection of our physical, emotional, spiritual and mental wellbeing. I am an Adjunct Therapist at the Centre for Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma. I provide services in English, French and Portuguese. I understand that it can be challenging to reach out for help, but the search is the first step towards healing.
Approach & Framework
I create a non-judgemental, comfortable and safe environment to support clients to express who they are or how they feel. I use a strength-based, client-centred and collaborative approach meeting the client where they are in their journey and empowering the client to achieve growth. I use an integrative model, pulling from different therapies such as; Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Emotional-Focused Therapy, attachment theory, family systems, humanistic modalities and trauma-focused interventions. I am a true believer that with proper support, guidance, and sincere effort, clients will have the courage for further self-discovery.
